Imagine: It's 10:17 p.m. Your phone rings. The display reads "Berlin Police." A stern voice says: "Your name is on a list of money launderers. If you don't cooperate immediately, your account will be frozen."„
They panic. What would they do? She What to do at this moment?
Scammers are exploiting precisely this panic. And they are becoming increasingly professional.

Scammers are calling, impersonating police officers, prosecutors, or bank employees. They claim your account has been hacked or that you have been the victim of a crime. Then they demand that you transfer money to a "safety account" or give them your login details.
Real-life case from 2025: A woman from Munich has such a 87.000 € Lost — in just 27 minutes.
You will receive a perfect text message or email: „Your savings bank: Suspicious activity on your account. Confirm here →“
The link leads to a deceptively authentic-looking bank website. As soon as you enter your details — your money is gone.
Especially dangerous: SMS phishing (Smishing) and calls with a spoofed phone number.
The charming "US officer," the "doctor from Switzerland," or the "widower from Hamburg"—they all write you loving messages for months. Then, at some point, an "emergency" occurs (illness, business troubles, being stranded abroad), and they urgently need money.
Many victims lose not only tens of thousands of euros, but also their hearts.
Question: Can the real police really freeze my account? Answer: No. The police do not freeze accounts over the phone. Only courts can do that with an official order.
Question: What should I do if I have already released data? Answer: Call your bank immediately, have your account blocked and file a police report.
Question: How can I spot fake profiles on dating apps? Answer: Reverse image searches (Google Images or TinEye), no video calls, quick declarations of love, and demands for money are red flags.
The fraudsters are no longer just stupid crooks — they are highly professional teams with call centers and state-of-the-art technology.
But you have a huge advantage: To know.
The better you understand the tricks, the worse off the fraudsters are with you.
Remember the most important sentence: If someone puts pressure on you and wants money or data quickly — it's fraud.
Stay vigilant.
